I’m working in artist Duo DeVries&DeVries now. Together with my mother we make projects in photography, design, video etc. This year during the Kunstroute in Bunschoten-Spakenburg we presented our project (wo)men in Black and made a interactive series about beauty.

We made the series (Wo)men in Black last year during the Kunstroute and presented it in the Groen van Printererschool this year. We printed the photo’s on fabric and made a small booklet.

And then our project, we made on location, about beauty and the influence of beauty on self-esteem. People where asked to go on the photo in the studio and after the photo was taken they could write, draw, sketch there opinion about beauty. Totally unexpeted we had over 150 people in front of our camera. So we couldn’t catch up with printing but still we showed around 60 portraits during the exhibition. Thank you all for this nice weekend!

Out of 1,200 entries from 65 countries the series ‘Pure, boys & Girls’ was nominated! On 27 september the Osnabrück’s Cultural History Museum will host the prize ceremony, followed by the exhibition opening. The exhibition will run from 27.09.2015 to 17.01.2016.

It was an amazing evening together with my family and all the other photographers. I met so many great people, learned a lot about photography and other series, and the printing was very beautiful!

I travel and work with some projects with my mother. (She will graduate in photographic design, june 2016!). And this year we where part of the ‘kunstroute’ in our hometown. I’m working on a project about the burqa. In first instance I wanted to explore the mysterious and beautiful grab through photography, research and the woman who wear it. But besides that I think people often have thoughts about something without knowing where the thoughts are coming from. The media has a large influence, social surrounding, culture etc. The media is not always very positive about the burqa. Sometimes it’s also just hard because its far away from our personal life. How is it possible to have (sometimes such a strong) opinion about something without exploring and having grounded reasons? We were curious about how people react to wear a burqa and feel, see and explore. We had many good conversations about it and people really liked to have this possibility. You can see the series here.

Together with my boyfriend we where on adventure in Austria. He was doing a internship in a hospital and I was working on a photo series. Unfortunately my boyfriend broke is back on five places in a snowboard accident. He is operated by very good doctors and everything went well. We moved to my parents home in the Netherlands and he will be recovering there till the summer. You can follow his story in the series ‘Maarten’. I also decided to start studying again and will be starting with nutrition and dietetics september 2015. I still will be working on new projects but on social media it will be a lot quieter. You can contact me always. Best.

Voetbal is emotie.

Voetbal in Bunschoten Spakenburg is immers willen winnen!
